イマジニアが手掛ける新作スマートフォン向けゲームアプリ「すみっコぐらし 農園つくるんです」（iOS / Android）が，10月28日に配信される予定だ。
「すみっコぐらし」とは，サンエックスから誕生した，すみっこが好きなキュートなキャラクターたち。ゲームでは，そのキャラクターたちとまったりとした農園生活が楽しめる。ここでは，配信に先駆けてプレイレポートをお届けしよう。
おいしいおやさいと好奇心で農園へGO！
すみっコたちとの農園ライフは，ぺんぎん？が大好物のきゅうりを食べながらとあるチラシを見たことをきっかけにゆるくスタート。マニュアルを片手に農園のお仕事に励んでいくのだが，農園の発展に伴ってやれることが少しずつ増えていくので，この手のゲームに不慣れな人でもまったりと楽しめるはずだ。
すみっコたちと一緒に農園を大きくしよう
すみっコが訪れた農園は，作物や施設などは皆無の荒れ地状態。ゲームが始まると，「畑」や「うしの小屋」の基本を学ぶチュートリアルへ突入する。ここで，作物や生産物の作り方を習得し，作ったものを納品する「注文」や，さまざまなクリア条件がある「クエスト」（後述）をこなして，お金やランク上げに必要なXPをためていこう。
まずは畑をつくって作物を育てるところから。農園に置ける物（畑，お花，家具，建物など）の購入＆配置ができる「デコ」から畑を選択し，置きたい場所をタップすると，畑の設置が完了。つづいて，育てたい作物を畑にスライドすると，すみっコたちが水を撒いてくれるので，あとは作物の完成まで一定時間待つのみ。完成時間のカウントが0になったら，作物を収穫可能だ。
最初からある「うしの小屋」では餌を，お金を払って建てられる「パン屋」や「かんみどころ」のような建物では，作りたいものをスライドさせることで生産物を作れる。なお，作成には特定の材料が必要な場合もあるので，作成に備えて材料は手広く集めておきたいところだ。
作ったものはドンドン「クエスト」と「注文」へ
作物や生産物を作ったり，「注文」と「クエスト」をこなしていたりすると，ランクが上昇する。このランクを上げることで，作物の完成時間短縮などに使えるジュエルがもらえるほか，新しいものが作れるようにる。
序盤でのレベルアップでは，ぺんぎん？がマニュアルを読み進めて，新たに「れっしゃ」が作成できるようになった。れっしゃは，指定の作物と生産物を積み上げて発車させて，帰ってきたときに報酬がもらえる仕組みとなっている。
ショップではかわいいきせかえもゲット！
「ショップ」では，日によって購入できるものが変わる「デイリー」，すみっコのきせかえがガチャ式でランダムで当たる「げんてい」，ジュエルで農園の開拓に使えるアイテムが購入できる「いつもの」がある。
農園で動き回るすみっコたちの姿がかわいらしく，眺めているだけでも楽しい本作。筆者は最初，ゲームを始めて荒れ果てた広い農園を見て「なんだかやること多そうだな，大丈夫かな……」と思ったが，チュートリアルをやってみると農園でのお仕事内容はシンプルで分かりやすく，すみっコたちが働く姿もたっぷりと堪能できた。ほのぼのとした世界観に触れたい，すみっコたちが好きだという人はぜひ手にとってほしい。

'Sumikkogurashi Farm,' the new mobile game for iOS and Android created by Imagineer, is scheduled for release on October 28.
Created by San-X, the 'Sumikkogurashi' are cute characters who feel most comfortable in corners. In this game, players can enjoy a laid-back farm lifestyle alongside the Sumikkogurashi. We had a chance to review the game before its release, so let's get started!
Start your adventure into farm life and harvest some sumptuous vegetables
There's a gentle start to farm life with the Sumikko. While munching on their favorite cucumbers, Penguin? happens to spot a leaflet advertising the farm. The Sumikko apply themselves to farm jobs with a manual in hand, though in the real world, even players who are newcomers to this kind of game will be able to relax on the farm without difficulty. As the farm develops, the available tasks increase steadily.
Grow your farm with the Sumikko
When the Sumikko arrive, the farm is just a wasteland without crops or facilities. The player starts off learning the basics of how fields and cow sheds work in an introductory tutorial.
You learn how to plant crops, make products, and how you can earn money and gain XP to level up by sending out orders and finishing quests with various clear conditions (which we'll look at later).
The first step is to prepare the field and grow crops. Using the decoration box, you can choose what you want to add your farm, such as fields, flowers, furniture, buildings and so on, and tap an area to place them down. Next, you can slide crops to where you want to plant them, and the Sumikko will water them. There is a fixed period of time to wait until the crops are grown, and when the countdown reaches zero, you can harvest the crops.
From the start, the player is able to make food in the cow shed and buy buildings, such as bakeries and sweets cafes. In these buildings it is possible to create products by sliding across the things you want to create. It's a good idea to collect a lot of different materials, as there are times when a product's recipe calls for specific ingredients.
Make products, fulfil quests and send out orders
The player levels up as they produce crops and products for orders and quests. With each level up, you earn jewels that allow you to create new things and reduce the time it takes until crops can be harvested.
Once the player gains a few levels, Penguin? will consult the manual, and the Sumikko will be given access to a train. The train functions as a delivery system, sending crops and produce out, and bringing back the reward on return.
Buy cute clothes at the shop!
There are a number of different items in the shop, split into categories. There are daily items that you can buy at the shop and that change day to day; limited items, where you can get different clothes for the Sumikko at random, gacha-style; and items you can always buy, which can be used to cultivate your farm with jewels.
The Sumikko are adorable as they walk around the farm, and just watching them makes for a delightful experience. When looking at the vast, deserted expanse at the start of the game, I was daunted, and it felt like there was so much that needed to be done. But in the tutorial, I found the farm jobs to be simple and easy to understand, and watching the Sumikko go about their work is really enjoyable.
